Q: Why can't CPR and First Aid Training be done remotely?
A: It can be for those not needing a valid certification for their employers. OSHA, as well as many state agencies, clearly state that your "training must contain both classroom instruction and hands-on practice as well as the ability to ask questions to a live instructor".
Q: What is the difference between the different organizations on the market that offer training?
A: Realistically none. The Emergency Cardiac Care Committee writes the international standards and agencies buy the rights to them. The reality is that you may just be paying higher prices for a name brand for the same exact training. Many employers and states accept training from the following: American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), Emergency Care and Safety Institute (ECSI), National Safety Council (NSC) and The American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI). Please contact us for advice on what class may serve your needs best.
Q: What should I be looking for from a training center?
A: Instructors with knowledge and experience in the subject matter. Several training organizations allow you to send anyone through an instructor course despite having ever worked, or even trained, in the subject matter that they are teaching. Also be sure that you are getting the training materials that you are being charged for, not photocopies of them. You want to insure that the equipment being utilized meets the current standards, is in good working condition and is properly disinfected. Finally, be sure that the training center has the proper liability insurance. Never hesitate to inquire about these topics.
Q: Can training be adapted for those with physical limitations, literacy issues and/or language barriers?
A. There are no circumstances that we cannot overcome as long as we know ahead of time. We will be more than happy to adjust our training accordingly.
